Hi there, I'm Emily! I have a PhD from The University of Texas at Austin in music theory and am a television and film music scholar. During the week I work in IT specializing in Apple device management and deployment. I also moonlight as a copyeditor and occasional writer for various outlets. I'm pretty handy in knitting and crochet, and also dabble in cross stitch and embroidery. The rest of the time I play a lot of video games (mainly my Nintendo Switch and 2DS XL). I live and die by all things Chicago sports. My Loves: Adventure Time, Futurama, Ted Lasso, Animal Crossing, kitties, vegan noms, knitting & crocheting, local bookstores. Major Dislikes: bad yarn joins, yarn snobs, slow walkers, people that argue "guys" is a gender neutral term (it's not!).
Keywords: music theory, musicology, film music, television music, knitting, crochet, spinning, weaving, embroidery, stitches, teaching, photography, hermeneutics, popular culture studies, Mac administration, macOS, Jamf Pro, Apple IT
