I'm always on the lookout for crochet mitts; they're fast to make, they're almost always super cute, and in Austin mitts are an essential fall/winter accessory.

I'm always on the lookout for crochet mitts; they're fast to make, they're almost always super cute, and in Austin mitts are an essential fall/winter accessory. I'm a big fan of Debbie Bliss yarns and their color ways, and these mitts by Sandra Paul are like the ultimate combination of things I like.
The only bummer about this is Debbie Bliss yarns in the US can be kind of pricy. But any smooth-ply sport weight should work wonderfully. I'm actually betting that Berroco Vintage DK would be a nice substitute for something with a little more of an earthy tone. Since it uses about 100 yds of a bunch of different colors, I imagine it'd be a great stash-buster project. Though if you're anything like me, you'll love an excuse to go buy more yarn…
