Charlie and I went up to Dallas last week for the Dallas Comic Con (post soon!) and were surprisingly good about eating out. I insisted upon packing a cooler with tasty things to eat, like hummus and veggies and cereal bars and stuff. But we did eat out each night we where there, and hit up some places that tailored to vegan diets. Because, if I haven't made that clear, I am vegan. (Hear me roar.)
Naturally I turned to Twitter to find out where to go:
And got some help!
So Sunday on our way out of town we went to Spiral Diner, which was actually our only foray into Dallas proper. And it was very much worth the trip!
Charlie got a patty melt with a side of pasta salad:
I got a philly cheez steak and a side of pasta salad:
I drank a really tasty tangerine lime thing!
And naturally we got dessert. I got a delicious and rich marble cheezcake:
And Charlie got a giant slab of chocolate referred to as marble cake:
We were both particularly impressed with the pasta salad which was prepared with vegan pesto. I loved my Philly cheez steak; the seitan was tender and thinly sliced and the grilled veggies were really tasty! And they used Daiya cheese, a favorite of mine.
If I end up back in Dallas again I'll definitely go back for more! It's great to go to a restaurant and be able to order ANYTHING from the menu. Anything! Though I admit that cheezcake was a bit rich for me. Next time: cupcakes!
