opening day

It's only the greatest day of the year!

I'm trying not to get my hopes too high for my dear Cubbies this season, but I definitely think they deserve better than 24th in the Power Rankings (which, if you missed me complaining about it on Twitter, I find total horse poop). The only NL Central team in the top 10 is the Cardinals and they don't have Albert Pujols anymore. The player that was ranked #1 on ESPN's top 500 list and boosted his new team in Anaheim to #3. And I'm sorry, but a flashy new park is not a good enough justification for the Marlins to be #11. The Cubs have a stronger pitching staff than the White Sox, who squeaked by for the #20 spot even though as of today Robin Ventura has yet to decide on a closer. *facepalm*

Anyway.

I'm superstitious about making bold predictions that will effect the Cubs negatively ... hey ..... maybe that's why they were ranked low! The analysts were as superstitious as me. That's what I'll choose to believe.

Go Cubs!

  1. I love the Twins and all but their success is entirely too related to health. I kind of think the Cubs should be above them. Both teams are bound to put me on edge this season.
