Thanks to the lovely ladies of ModCloth, I was sent an invitation to Poshmark's Posh Party held the weekend of the Texas Style Council's Social Media Conference. I have never in my life been to anything quite so fancy, fashionable, and completely inspiring.

There were over a hundred perfectly dressed and accessorized fashion bloggers and vendors crammed into a wine bar on Cesar Chavez. I felt bad taking pictures of random people, so I took in the the decorations and vendor tables.

My first task was to find the ModCloth table and say hello to the lovely ModCloth PR gals, and also pick up a bit of swag for being on the ModSquad.

It's pretty clear that the new direction for indie design and fashion bloggers is swapping.

And if you think about it, this is the next logical step. Fashion bloggers go out of their way for fresh finds and cute outfits, but you can't keep everything and it's so hard to sell things on eBay that aren't new or clearly "vintage." Swapping seems like the perfect answer, especially since the audience for the swaps are going to be other fashion-minded people looking for the same thing. (Be on the look-out for a Poshmark app review on this site.)

Lulu*s was there and had a really lovely give-away. I ended up winning an item (clothing), but there wasn't anything bigger than a medium. Which is disappointing. A lot of these sites still lean towards smaller sizes, which doesn't make all that much sense since I'm pretty confident than a decent majority of ladies fit in the 10-14 range. But anyway. I picked a dress I thought I had the best chance to squeeze into, and went merrily on my way. I do love the dress, and hope a seamstress can let out the darts in the back a bit so I don't feel like if I move half an inch it'll explode.

There was a lot of beautiful jewelry and accessories:

And makeup:

And my favorite, shoes:

And naturally, adorable food!

As far as my outfit goes, I went with something safe: colorblocking.

And here's some of the swag I got, just for being there:

I think the best take-away were the Scholl's "Fast Flats". They've become my go-to house shoes, which isn't necessarily what they're for but I'm not the social butterfly that most fashion bloggers that go to Social Media Conferences are. But this was definitely motivation to look into heading that direction ...

I had a few people take my picture, but I can't seem to find photo albums anywhere from the party. We'll see if I can find them!
